About us

About Teesoutdoors,  Experience, Adventure.

Inspiring Exploration, Sharing Discovery

David and Diane Hopwood launched Teesoutdoors in 2008 as a way to deliver high quality informal education and outdoor training into secondary schools and youth settings. In 2016 we expanded into primary schools.

In 2020 we became a  Community Interest Company (CIC), to make our training accessible to all the community and remove barriers to participation.

We are committed to delivering active, innovative, experiential learning, inspiring people and sharing our discoveries. We do this for all abilities and make sure we can cater for everyone.

Teesoutdoors is based on accountable transparency and evidence based trust. That means that when we make a commitment, we will always back it up with solid traceable proof. We thrive on challenge and will ask the difficult questions that provoke thought, reflection and growth.

Our ethos, Learning Journeys

We love what we do - and it shows! With years of combined experience, we have wealth of knowledge. We use this to support the outdoor sector, offering technical advice and leadership training to partners and colleagues.

We want to be close to the client, and able to adapt somthing we cannot do if we gro too big, we have provision for up to 60 on residentials, but most of our programmes are for groups of 8 to 16.

Commitment to lifelong learning journeys means we encourage colleagues to get involved in their own development, supporting their own explorations, expeditions and adventures. In that process, we return more able to deliver richer learning and development experiences to our clients.
